PRIVATE LICENSE (Home Builders):

INDIVIDUALS & HOME BUILDERS enter into a licensing agreement with us to the extent you receive a Certificate of Authenticity for each boat built.  The license fee paid at the time of purchase is for the construction of ONE HULL ONLY.  All subsequent hulls constructed require payment of  50% of the original licensing fee before reusing our CNC File. All our drawings and files are copywritten and international copyright laws apply. Another Serial Number and Certificate Of Authenticity will be issued for each hull upon receipt of the license fee. A serial number issued by MetalBoatKits ensures your boat is legal for registration, insurance, and resale purposes.

Terms:

OWNERSHIP OF PLANS – Unless otherwise agreed to by MetalBoatKits in writing the Owner is authorized to build only one vessel from the design. Drawings and Specifications are supplied as instruments of service and are owned by, and shall remain the property of, the Designer. Additional hulls may be licensed for 50% of the original fee. Please contact us regarding additional builds prior to use of the files so that we may authorize use and issue licensing documents.

Upon completion of the vessel all Plans and Specifications used by the Builder during construction shall be returned to the Designer, or otherwise destroyed. All computer files such as CNC Nests, AutoCAD Drawings, must be deleted upon completion of the vessel. Any distribution, sharing, or re-use of these files is a violation of international copyright  law.

Proof Of Licensing:

CUSTOMER IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS:  Every boat built to our designs is assigned a unique Identification Number. This number is unique to each hull and is non-transferable.  Any duplication, or transfer, of this number will terminate the license agreement and will constitute copyright violation resulting in termination of the builders Protected Territory. 

CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY: Each boat built to our design(s) is issued a Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) also known as a Statement Of Conformity (SOC) that authorizes the builder to build one boat, and will stand as proof that the boat  was built legally under license from The Designer. The COA also Contains the Customer ID Number. The builder will issue a duplicate COA: Some countries may require this document during vessel registration, particularly in the case of commercial vessels.  All buyers of boats to our design should ask the builder/seller for this document.   

NOTE: If you suspect your competition is building unauthorized boats from our designs please let us know.  We will remove the competition for you.
