The Alaska 275 Outboard Version is good all weather serious boat that can be set up as a commuter, sturdy family cruiser, or serious sport fisher. Comfortable accommodations for weekends or even weeks of vacation and fishing.

Have a look at our Build Logs section for a comprehensive gallery of build photos of this boat kit.

A design by Rick Welin ( metalboatkits.com ) this welded aluminum multipurpose cabin cruiser was developed through conversation with an Alaskan customer who needs to commute 80 miles to the nearest store, by water, in all weather, and all seasons in Alaska!

She’s 30′ LOA 10′ BEAM with a large chine flat that runs all the way fwd for knocking down spray. The hull is a moderate vee at about 17 degrees deadrise at the stern.

The bottom plating is 1/4″ and the topsides 3/16″ ,so she will be tough all over. . … She is based on local pacific northwest crew boats that have evolved over decades for the local logging industry, so there’s no experimental stuff …. Fast and tough.

The Outboard Version is set up for Twin 150 HP up to Twin 250 HP for the ultimate in power and convenience. The reverse sloping ” pacific north west” windscreen stays drier and reduces glare.

The conical bow section allows the topside plating to flare out more in the bow than traditional bow shapes for a safer ride and to further knock down spray.

Build your own at a fraction of the cost to buy new! Generally speaking building from a kit costs about 30% of retail so here is a serious saving or markup for re-sale. It will hold it’s value for decades so it’s a sensible investment as well.

(It should be noted that your purchase is for the building of ONE boat only and any additional hulls built from the files require a 50% fee per boat built.) Email us for licencing additional builds and production runs.

Just a few facts: She’s got twin 250 four stroke yamaha’s. The boat runs 51 mph at wot and cruises at 30mph at only 3600rpm.
I have to say I have never driven a more responsive boat in this size
range. I made full speed 50mph turns today on a flat lake with zero slip
or cavitation. thanks again for the great design.
