Introducing the Float-A-Home 40 Tiny Home Boat. With 30 years of Live-Aboard experience I’ve brought everything I’ve learned over the decades of waterborne living into this design. If I had to start all over again this is exactly the boat I’d build. Designed with three things in mind: It has to be easy to build by anyone, comparatively cheaper than an equivalent yacht. Provide a comfortable Tiny-Home-style living space in minimal docking length. The interior is all one level so the interior is a lot easier to build than a traditional yacht and can be done using RV / Tiny-Home materials and techniques. You could even use Home Depot or Ikea stock bedroom and kitchen components etc. There’s plenty of space up top for a large canopy-mounted Solar Array, for those with “off-grid” sensibilities as well.
AFORDABILITY: Designed to be affordable to build from step one. We’re keeping the price of CNC Files low to keep with the theme of folks creating their floating home affordably and that follows through to the materials and build techniques too. She’s fast and easy to build!
THE HULL is a brand new creation designed from the ground up with house-boat performance in mind. She has extra wide chine flats to help get her on plane easily and a pronounced & curvy 1° rocker for enhanced efficiency at displacement speeds. So whatever speed and power level you’d like she’s comfortable and easily driven. She’s happy as a displacement lugger or a mid-speed planing boat. Outboard power means you can start with cheaper, smaller, or used outboard motors and then re-power later when funds allow.
This boat can also be built as a Family Cruiser, Live-aboard, Tour boat, Airbnb, etc. depending on owner preferences.
